The Helderberg to Hudson Half Marathon helps me to keep my focus on fitness goals during the rough winter months. My impulse to get outside and run in single degree temps would not be possible without the H2H in the back of my mind. The brutal training during winter will make me a stronger runner once April rolls around. I'll look back on how tough and prepared I've become at the starting line and I'll look forward to that hard earned post-race beer at the finish line!

My running buddy, Jessica Bashaw, and I both live in Cambridge, NY. We both love getting out and running on the surrounding country roads, whenever possible. This photo was taken on a frigid December morning - when I returned home, my kids thought we were Anna and Else from the movie Frozen. Last year, Jess and I ran the inaugural H2H and it was a special one for both of us. Jess ran a big PR and I was 8 months postpartum. It was my first big race after giving birth to my daughter. This year, I'm hoping to run a PR (or at least get close)! Can't wait to run past the beer tent and through the finish line! :)
